D'Andre Lampkin Announces Run for Ontario City Council

Community leader and public servant D'Andre Lampkin has officially qualified as a candidate for Ontario City Council, District 3, pledging to bring transparency, safety, opportunity, and responsive leadership to City Hall.

D'Andre D. Lampkin has officially announced his candidacy for Ontario City Council, District 3, beginning a campaign centered on service, experience, and community.

Lampkin recently submitted his nomination papers and received confirmation from the City Clerk's Office that he had qualified for the ballot. His candidacy follows years of public service, civic involvement, business leadership, and direct engagement with Ontario residents.

"For 17 years, Ontario has been the community I have called home, served, and worked to strengthen," Lampkin said. "I am running because District 3 deserves leadership that listens, brings people together, and ensures that Ontario's continued growth improves the quality of life for the people who already live here."

Lampkin currently serves on the Ontario Planning Commission, where he has participated in decisions involving development, land use, infrastructure, neighborhood compatibility, and the preservation of Ontario's history and identity.

He also brings more than 20 years of law-enforcement and public-safety experience as a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy. His professional background includes emergency management, disaster preparedness, major-event planning, interagency coordination, and community engagement.

In addition to his public-sector experience, Lampkin is a business owner and the founder and president of the D'Andre D. Lampkin Foundation. Through the Foundation, he has worked with residents, businesses, nonprofits, public agencies, and community organizations to support youth development, neighborhood service, food assistance, disaster preparedness, and community resilience.

"My experience has taught me that strong communities are not built by government alone," Lampkin said. "They are built when residents, employees, businesses, nonprofits, and civic leaders work together toward a shared purpose."

Since entering the race, Lampkin has begun walking neighborhoods and speaking directly with District 3 residents about what they value, what concerns them, and what they want from their City Council representative.

During his initial listening conversations, residents expressed pride in Ontario's growth, cleanliness, public amenities, new roads, shopping, entertainment opportunities, downtown revitalization, and the addition of the Ontario Tower Buzzers baseball stadium.

Residents also raised concerns about traffic, speeding near schools, road conditions, illegal dumping, mail theft, neighborhood maintenance, environmental conditions near remaining dairies, and whether infrastructure and public services are keeping pace with South Ontario's rapid development.

"The message I am hearing is not that residents oppose progress," Lampkin said. "They want growth to be thoughtful, safe, orderly, and responsive to the people living through it."

Lampkin said these conversations will continue throughout the campaign and will help shape the priorities he advances.

Lampkin's campaign will focus on five core priorities:

Thoughtful Growth and Infrastructure — Supporting responsible development while ensuring roads, utilities, traffic systems, parks, libraries, public safety, and other essential services keep pace with Ontario's expansion.

Safe, Prepared, and Resilient Neighborhoods — Strengthening public safety, emergency preparedness, disaster response, community recovery, traffic safety, and coordination among residents, businesses, nonprofits, and public agencies.

Jobs and Economic Opportunity — Creating stronger pathways connecting Ontario residents to local jobs, workforce training, apprenticeships, small-business opportunities, and the economic benefits generated by growth, tourism, entertainment, and Ontario International Airport.

Responsible and Transparent Government — Promoting accountability, sound financial stewardship, ethical decision-making, and clear explanations of major City Council actions.

Communication and Community Trust — Improving communication between City Hall and residents by maintaining an accessible presence, holding regular listening opportunities, and ensuring residents have a meaningful voice in decisions affecting their neighborhoods.

Lampkin said his campaign will remain focused on bringing people together rather than deepening political divisions.

"We will not always agree, but disagreement should never prevent us from listening to one another or working together," Lampkin said. "Ontario deserves leadership that protects the progress residents value while ensuring decisions are transparent, accountable, and made in the public interest."

He added that the campaign's message — Service • Experience • Community — reflects both his record and the kind of leadership he hopes to bring to the City Council.

"I am proud to call Ontario home, optimistic about our future, and ready to bring my experience, work ethic, and record of service to the City Council," Lampkin said. "I respectfully ask District 3 residents for the opportunity to earn their trust and their vote."
